Online registration for the July 19 tournament
is now open.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the June monthly AGA ratings
tournament in San Francisco! We had 43 players—our best turnout yet.
Players ranged from 7d to 25k, with eight players entering at 5d and above.
Eleven of the players won a Go book—seven for playing in their first
AGA-rated tournament and four for winning all of their games. Five players
joined the AGA at the tournament. We hope you'll be able to join us at the
next tournament on July 19.

KGS Club Room
We've got our own club room on KGS, the
Kiseido Go Server.
There you can play Go, chat, and network online with other players in Northern
California. Did you meet somebody at a recent tournament or pro lesson
and you'd like to play them again online? Meet them in the Bay Area GPA room
on KGS.
Not familiar with how rooms work on KGS? Simply log in, click on the Rooms
menu and select Room List. Next click on Clubs and find the room called, "Bay
Area GPA." Click on this room and then click on Join. You are now all set.
You will now have a Bay Area GPA tab in your main KGS window, and clicking
on this tab will take you into the Bay Area Go Players Association club room.

About Bay Area Go Players Association
The Bay Area Go Players Association is a non-profit organization created to
serve the Go community by sponsoring and publicizing tournaments, lessons, and
other events in Northern California. Formed in late 2007 by Steve Burrall and
Roger Schrag, our first goal is to ensure that at least one AGA-rated Go
tournament is held each month throughout 2008 in the San Francisco Bay Area.
We are not a Go club, nor do we charge membership dues. Rather, we are a small
group of Go players volunteering our time and energy in order to bring more
activities of interest to Go players in Northern California. If you are
interested in helping out or making a donation, please
contact us.
Please tell your friends about Bay Area Go Players Association. Spreading the
word benefits the entire Go community. You can also post our
brochure at your
Go club, in your school, or on community bulletin boards. Thanks for the help!
